Pete & Suzie Bull
With the news that HONOURABLE SPIDER is out until the spring, Pete Bull will be looking to his new Open horse MASTER T for some consolation.
MASTER T, a nine-year-old recruit from Gary Moore, raced 76 times in Flat, hurdle and ‘chase races, winning four ‘chases (three at Plumpton) at up to 2½ miles, a hurdle and two all-weather Flat races. His last win was at his peak, rated 114, in a Plumpton handicap ‘chase on good ground. “He has never run over three miles, so we’re not sure what to expect,” says Pete.
MASTER ALF (Restricted) – “He’s back from running under rules and we’ve high hopes for him,” says Pete. An 8-year-old son of The Little Bag, Master Alf ran in six ‘chases earlier this year, his best result being when 3rd to Hazeljack at Fontwell in March, staying on over 3½ miles.
SELF CERTIFIED (Intermediate) is also back from running under rules. “He’s had problems and time off since winning a maiden and restricted easily three yrs ago, so we will just see what happens with this one.” Self Certified, now nine, was tailed off in a maiden hurdle at Folkestone in February this year, but still beat Kevin Tork’s Mysaynoway by 45 lengths.
BALABLEU (Restricted): “All the horses were off colour last season due to a bug in the yard,” says Pete. “I am sure (and hoping) this horse has a lot more ability than he showed last season.”
GALAPIAT DU MESNIL – For novice riders races, owned and ridden by Penny Hacking.
HONOURABLE SPIDER (Open), has had a slight setback and is unlikely to be ready until mid-Feb, early March. This popular nine-year-old, who ran in the Cheltenham Foxhunter in 2007, has won two Folkestone hunter ‘chases and eight point-to-points including Opens at Detling and Parham last season. On his last outing he was beaten by Bee An Bee at Penshurst.
