Parham, March 15th 2008 Pony Report
Eight ponies went to post for the 138cms and under Open race. Tabitha Worsley on Goldsborough Moonlight Mist was quick to break and was hotly pursued by Charlie Marshall on Rio, George Crate on Covenham Generation and Charlotte Cheesman on Hayne Valley Peek-a-boo. There was little to tell between this leading pack as they came down the hill towards the finish. With a furlong to go, Goldsborough Moonlight Mist was driven clear of his rivals to give Tabitha her first victory. Charlie Marshall fought hard to keep second place as Charlotte Cheesman got up just on the line to take third from George Crate in fourth. A large cheer was given to the rest of the finishers, particularly Hannah Miles having her first ride and Poppy Hole on the eye catching Pippin.
The Novice Riders Race for 148cm and under ponies was contested by ten starters with a variety of heights and types between them. Jake Wright on Turtle Project gained the advantage at the last bend and maintained his position to win by half a length from Eliza Horton and Zanakartis. Third was Toni Silverstein on Huttons Ambo Nemesia. Again a large cheer was given to the smaller and heavier ponies as they crossed the line in fine style.
