Godstone May 2nd 2009 Preview
Peter Bull and Nick Pearce are separated by just two points as the race for the South East men's riding title nears the finishing straight. With just three meetings left in the area, both men will be at Godstone Races on Saturday May 2nd with strong chances.
Bull has entered Honourable Spider and Master T in the Men's Open and his choice of mount will depend on the ground. With god going forecast, his likely ride will be Honourable Spider, but Master T will take his chance if the ground is firm. He also has Captain's Legacy in the Intermediate. Master Alf is entered for the Club Conditions race, but his participation hangs on likely conditions at Cheltenham next Wednesday, where preference is for a hunter 'chase,
Nick Pearce will be taking him on in the Open with Letterman, seeking his sixth win of the season and extending his lead as champion horse in the area. Pearce will also be on Simon Tindall's Say Grace in the Intermediate and Jack's Present in the Club race.
Philip Hall is booked to ride Amaya Silva in the Maiden for James Etheridge, while Highland Chief is a possible for the Open.
Cynthia Haydon, who looks booked for the ladies' title, has a choice of two for the Ladies' Open - Carryonharry and Major Jon - with the latter more likely to run in the Conditions race.
