Chris Lawson

SADLERS LAMP – owned by Libby Lawson, will do a full hunting season before heading for the East Kent Members race.

HATSNALL – owned by Essex based Bill Poulton. Will run in Mens' Opens before trying his luck in a couple of Hunter Chases again.

CELESTIAL HEIGHTS – Bill Poulton owned. Will be aimed at Ladies' Opens with Georgina Andrews up, or Novice Riders' with Tom Cheeseman

SHA BIHAN – new horse for owner Bill Poulton. Bought with a Hunt Members' race specifically in mind for the owner, but he took it away to qualify with the Essex before the East Kent had an eleventh hour change of heart and put a Hunt Members' race back on their card. Too late for my owner, who would have been happy to run at Aldington. Now goes to High Easter.

SUPREME VINTAGE – owned by Martin Cheeseman, son Tom will ride in novice rider races. Won two races when trained by me in 2007 and went to Cheltenham evening HC meeting.

LUNCH WAS MY IDEA – Owned by three former school mates from Essex. Won his Maiden first time out at Marks Tey last season, then 2nd at Northaw in Restricted. He’ll continue his education in points hopefully.

FINNOW SHAN – old maiden

FLEETWOOD FOREST – Open horse, former winner over hurdles

IVORY FAIR – baby on the block; only run in two bumpers

All the above three will run for the Priory Racing Club; Group of ten people from various backgrounds.

FEMME D'AVRIL – owned by two friends from Chelmsford area, and bought from Seamus Mullins out of Ascot Sales. Winner under rules and will be aimed at Mares Only races and Ladies' Opens, most likely with Rosie Chinnery riding.

Seems I’m still getting most interest from owners north of the Thames, but hey ho, I have been doing this up there for twenty odd years now, and I guess it’s hard to break old habits or break into new areas. Last season was a bit of a wash out, so here’s to a better season for Priory Racing, and a fantastic season for the South East!
